Nothing can really compare with a house boat holiday. Prices you can expect to pay for house boat rentals are just a fraction of what you’d pay for a full on cruise tour. In fact, you can rent in one of two ways, a simple house-boat raft or a full service luxury craft.

The cost of what you would pay to rent a boat house depends on many factors. The first and most obvious is the size of the boat. Most houseboats are in the size range of 38 feet to 62 feet. Houseboats are designed to accommodate everything from a holidaying couple right through to a large family group of 12+ people. The number of bedroom or “cabins”as they are called, varies from one to four.

All houseboats are equipped with basic amenities such as a kitchenette and bathroom. Now, if you decide to go with a little more budget, then you can live aboard in luxury right in the heart of nature. These houseboats are equipped with high quality queen size beds, CD / DVD players, sophisticated sound systems, full size refrigerators, Fishing gear etc. The main factor in the costings of the rental houseboat naturally depends mainly on the size of the boat. When you have a jumbo size triple story houseboat, the cost will be higher.

These costs of house boat rentals range from $2,000 per week for a larger more luxurious house boat right through to $10 per night for a basic dorm room. Another factor that plays a role in the cost of renting a house ship is the location. A houseboat in a private complex with personal service will cost more than a simple self catered affair.

Another factor that may dictate houseboat rental costs would be peak or low seasons. The seasons vary in Thailand depending on whether you are in the North or the South. You will also find that the rental costs are higher on weekends.
